The United Arab Emirates (UAE) sometimes simply called the Emirates is a sovereign state in Western Asia at the northeast end of the Arabian Peninsula, in the south of the Persian Gulf. The climate of the UAE is subtropical-arid with hot summers and warm winters. The climate is categorized as desert climate. The hottest months are July and August, when average maximum temperatures reach above 45 °C. The United Arab Emirates comprises seven emirates. Dubai is the most populous emirate with 35.6% of the UAE population. The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has 31.2%, meaning that over two-thirds of the UAE population lives in either Abu Dhabi or Dubai. Tourism acts as a growth sector for the entire UAE economy. Dubai is the top tourism destination in the Middle East. According to the annual MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index, Dubai is the fifth most popular tourism destination in the world and holds up to 66% share of the UAE's tourism economy, with Abu Dhabi having 16% and Sharjah 10%. Dubai welcomed 10 million tourists in 2013.

Since the announcement of a peace treaty between Israel and the United Arab Emirates in August 2020 there has been a marked increase in interest from both kosher program operators and independent kosher travelers to visit the UAE.

The kosher food scene has grown over the past two years as the UAE has become a popular vacation destination for kosher travelers. There are 10 kosher restaurants in Dubai and two kosher restaurants in Abu Dhabi. There is a very active Chabad in the UAE that offers Shabbat and holiday meals.

Offering kosher food in the UAE is a major interest for the local rulers/governments; In September 2020 an instruction was issued by the Tourism Ministry to all hotel general managers informing them to prepare to offer supervised kosher food and drinks to their guests. Kosher food is available in a number of hotels but you must inquire and order before your visit.

The EAKC - Emirates Agency for Kosher Certification is an organization initiated and conducted by the Chabad Emissary to the UAE and supported by the UAE governments
Some of the major hotel chains offer kosher food - kosher Restaurants, kosher room service menus, lobby snacks and drinks and take away meals. There were a number of successful Passover programs in the UAE last year and there are a number of Passover programs planned in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for Passover 2023. See offers above.

It can also be a NON KOSHER establishment located in walking distance from the local Shul, community or kosher restaurants area.
