About Worcester
Worcester is a city and the historic county seat of Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States until Massachusetts disbanded county government in 1998. Named after Worcester, England, United Kingdom as of the 2010 Census the city's population was 181,045. Summers are typically warm and humid, while winters are cold, windy, and snowy. Much of Worcester culture is synonymous with Boston and New England culture. Worcester is also the state's largest center for the arts outside of Boston. Worcester has 1,100 acres of publicly owned property. Notable parks include Elm Park, which was laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted in 1854.
