East Windsor Township is a township in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 17,190, located in the center of New Jersey it is an hour away from New York City. It grew quickly through the 1960s, by 1965 the population had reached 11,000. Winters are cold and damp, and occasionally freezing, summers are hot and humid, with temperatures going above 90oF (31oC) around 15 days a year.
East Windsor has a large Orthodox Jewish community, by 1965 almost half the population of 11,000 were Jewish. There are two synagogues actually in East Windsor and several others dotted around the area nearby. There is a Stop and Shop kosher bakery in East Windsor. There are also many other kosher establishments close to East Windsor, in Edison and Marlboro.
