About Dnepropetrovsk
Dnipropetrovsk or Dnepropetrovsk, originally Ekaterinoslav is Ukraine's third largest city, with about one million inhabitants. It is 391 kilometres southeast of the capital Kiev on the Dnieper River, in the south-central part of Ukraine. Dnipropetrovsk is a powerhouse of Ukraine's business and politics. During the summer, Dnipropetrovsk is very warm (average day temperature in July is 24 to 28 °C (75 to 82 °F). Winter is not so cold (average day temperature in January is −4 to 0 °C (25 to 32 °F), but when there is no snow and the wind blows hard, it feels extremely cold. The European square is worth a visit where you can see the beautifully painted town cathedral the military museum and the monument with a beautiful view over the Dnieper river. There is also Historical Museum, Diorama “Battle for the Dnieper River (Second World War)”, Shevchenko Park, and Potemkin Palace nearby.
