Sandy Springs is a city in northern Fulton County, Georgia, United States, and part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The 2017 estimated population was 106,739. In 1842, the Austin-Johnson House was erected on what is now Johnson Ferry Road. It is the oldest house in Sandy Springs. Sandy Springs has a humid subtropical climate. The Sandy Springs Festival is the largest community event in Sandy Springs, with approximately 30,000 attendees, established in 1984.
Sandy Springs became a popular place for young Jewish families to move to when Atlanta became to pricey to live in. Most Jewish families moved further North out of Atlanta to Dunwoody, North Druid Hills or Buckhead. The trend seems to be to move even further North, but only time will tell.
