If there was ever a year to celebrate Passover in Israel, this is it. Thousands of Jews have been coming to support the soldiers and people of Israel over the past year. It has been an amazing time of unity among the Jewish people. We need to keep that going and what better way to do that than to plan to spend the upcoming Pesach holiday in Israel?
Being in Israel is always magical and spending Jewish holidays in Israel is even more special. For week-long holidays, like Sukkot and Passover, the entire country is celebrating the holiday. With an increasing number of Jews coming from abroad, there's a palpable sense of millions of Jews uniting to celebrate. It harkens back to the days of old, especially going into Jerusalem and visiting the kotel. You will see every type of Jew, speaking different languages. As I mentioned, this gathering is truly magical.
With less six months until Pesach 2025, which begins on Saturday night, April 12th and ends on Saturday night, April 19th (Sunday night, April 20th outside of Israel), now is the time to buy tickets and book your Pesach program. There are amazing Passover programs in Israel every year and this year is no different. Obviously, nobody knows what will be happening in Israel or anywhere, for that matter, in six months but I am confident that Pesach in Israel will be a beautiful experience. The soldiers, the merchants and the people of Israel need your love and support more than ever.

Securing Your Flight to Israel for Pesach: Tips and Updates
If you are planning to come to Israel for Pesach, you should buy your tickets as soon as possible. With six months until Pesach, now is definitely the time to secure your travel arrangements. El Al has proven to be very reliable, having maintained operations since the war started. They have even added flights on popular routes to meet increased demand, as most international airlines have temporarily ceased flights to Israel. Over the past year, we’ve seen international airlines resume flights only to cancel them suddenly due to the situation, leaving many travelers stranded.
As of the writing of this article, El Al is the only airline offering direct flights between the United States and Israel. El Al provides a variety of ticket options that allow for changes and cancellations; for more details, visit El Al's website. Another popular choice is to fly to Europe with an airline of your preference (especially if you have points or vouchers) and then book a connecting flight on El Al, another Israeli airline, or a European carrier currently flying into Israel. However, keep in mind that European airlines may cancel flights due to the ongoing situation.
When planning your trip to Israel, it’s important to note the new entry requirements. Beginning January 1, 2025, all visitors from visa-exempt countries will be required to secure an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) prior to their travel. This applies to anyone entering Israel. The ETA-IL can be obtained online and is valid for up to 90 days per visit.

Ensuring Peace of Mind: Travel Insurance for Your Israel Trip
The topic of travel insurance has gained significant importance since the COVID-19 pandemic. It was not standard for most vacationers to bother with travel insurance when booking Passover programs or vacations before COVID. It has since become standard practice and highly recommended by Passover program operators to purchase travel insurance. None of us knows what the future holds, but we can do our best to prepare.
When purchasing travel insurance for your Passover program in Israel, it is crucial to thoroughly review the policy to ensure adequate coverage. Be aware that some insurance companies and credit card travel policies may exclude coverage for Israel due to the war. There are companies in Israel that are offering coverage for tourists coming in from overseas. Nevertheless, numerous options remain available for purchasing travel insurance for your Passover program in Israel. It's vital to verify your coverage, especially regarding trip cancellations and medical care while vacationing in Israel.
