Yavne, or Jamnia in some English texts, is a city in the Central District of Israel. According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, at the end of 2013 the city had a population of 36,980. Yavne was one of the major ancient cities in the southern coastal plain, situated 10 km (11.43 mi) south of Jaffa, 15 km (9.31 mi) north of Ashdod, and 7 km (4.35 mi) east of the Mediterranean. The city has a theatre and an art gallery.
After the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, Rabban Yochanan Ben Zakkai moved the Sanhedrin to Yavne. Some scholars believe the so-called Council of Yavne met there. There are more than 10 synagogues in Yavne. There are a few places to get kosher food in Yavne, plus it is very close to other areas with kosher food. There are plenty of archaeological and histrorical things to do in Yavne and the area.

JOFY, or "Jewish Observant Friendly" Establishments are lodging establishments offering special services for Jewish Observant guests such as Shabbat meals, accommodation on lower floors and regular keys for the rooms. It can also be a NON KOSHER establishment located in walking distance from the local Shul, community or kosher restaurants area.
