About Westport
Westport is a coastal town of colonial origin located along Long Island Sound in Fairfield County, Connecticut, 47 miles northeast of New York City. The town had a population of 16,391 according to the 2010 U.S. Census. The climate produces hot humid summers and cold winters, snow falls mainly in January and February, and rainfall which is relatively high averages out over the year. 16% of residential areas are within a flood plain. There are a number of historically important buildings around the town. Westport has a large park Longshore Club Park and a beach Compo Beach.
