About Bergenfield

Bergenfield is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 16,764. Bergenfield has been called the "Little Manila" of Bergen County. Of the 14,114 Filipino population in the county as a whole enumerated in the 2000 Census, 3,133 (11% of the county total) lived in Bergenfield. By the 2010 Census, 4,569 Bergenfield residents (17.1% of the population) listed themselves as being of Filipino ancestry. Bergenfield is under an hour away from New York City.

There is a growing Orthodox community in Bergen, there are also ten synagogues all concentrated to the South of the town near New Bridge Road and to the North of Teaneck in West Englewood Avenue. Most of the synagogues are Orthodox with a few Reform. There are two kosher markets in Bergen, but also many kosher restaurants, cafes and shops all centred around West Englewood Avenue in Teaneck to the south.
