Fleischmanns is a village in Delaware County, New York, United States. Originally part of the towns of Woodstock and Rochester in Ulster County, the area known today as Fleischmanns became part of Middletown in Delaware County on March 3, 1789. In the early 20th century Fleichmanns became popular as a place to build large summer houses to benefit from the good climate. In post second world war years the area became very popular with New Yorkers escaping the summer heat.
By the time Prohibition ended in 1933, the Catskills had been developed in large part by a number of Jewish gangsters and bootleggers, some of whom, like Waxey Gordon, filtered the money they made into new resorts and hotels. Because many hotels didn't allow Jews to visit, Jewish only hotels were set up, with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 so hotels could no longer discriminate Jewish patrons had far more choice than the Jewish hotels. By the 1980s the area had gone into decline. After a few years many strictly Orthodox Jews started to inhabit the area especially during the summer months. Fleischmanns still has a kosher hotel.

It can also be a NON KOSHER establishment located in walking distance from the local Shul, community or kosher restaurants area.
