About Velka Lomnica
Veľká Lomnica (1808 Welká Lomnica, 1900 Kakaslomnic, 1920 Lomnica) is a large village and municipality in Kežmarok District in the Prešov Region of north Slovakia. The municipality lies at an altitude of 639 metres, it has a population of about 3,770 people. Archeological finds of fortified settlement of Baden culture in the locality Burchbrich are dated to the end of stone and beginning of Bronze Age, more than 4000 years ago. In the first century BC, the Celts settle here and during Great Moravia period the Slavs arrive. The village was first mentioned in 1257. The village has two 9 hole and one 18 hole golf courses.
